A place we will never forget
Villa Linda is the kind of place you visit once and immediately start planning your return. The location is unbeatable. The property is stunning. The experiences are unforgettable. We loved watching the baby turtles make their way to the sea every evening at 5:30 (the turtle camp is literally 100 meters away), swimming across the estuary to walk into Platanitos for lunch, or just relaxing with a fresh coconut in hand (just harvested in the front yard!), every moment was special. This place is a hidden paradise, and we feel so lucky to have found it! (When Tim and Kate asked us to give a review, our only hesitation was wanting to keep this paradise to ourselves. But they were such great hosts, and the experience is so amazing, they deserve to have wonderful guests. Thanks Tim and Kate!)

A beachfront paradise
From the moment we arrived at Villa Linda and Playa Las Tortugas, we knew we had found something special. The house is stunning, beautifully designed, spacious, and set against the most breathtaking ocean views we’ve ever seen. The private beach feels like it stretches forever. Several times we were literally the only people on the beach for MILES. Insane. We spent our days soaking in the sun, swimming in the warm waters, and enjoying the absolute tranquility of this hidden paradise. We loved - absolutely loved - swimming in the estuary in the late afternoon. It was like a tropical pool paradise. It was beyond description. Miriam, the housekeeper and cook, is so sweet, and really took care of us. The house had everything we needed. Beach chairs, bug spray (you’ll want it at dusk and dawn), kayaks, surfboards. You name it.

Most relaxing getaway ever
We came to Villa Linda looking for an escape from the daily grind, and we found pure bliss. The house is elegant and comfortable, with every amenity we could possibly need (you feel like you own the place, everything is there for you). The beach was pristine and often completely empty. The views from the terrace were out of this world. We’d have to decide whether we’d want to watch the sunset from the beach, or from the rooftop terrace. Decisions, decisions, decisions! Ask Tim about swimming over for a fresh caught fish lunch in Platanitos. We did that twice, it was so fun.

Private retreat with 5-star luxury…
Villa Linda is a private resort like no other place we’ve been to before. We’ve traveled a lot, but Playa Las Tortugas and Villa Linda stands out. The moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the gorgeous architecture, high-end furnishings, amazing murals throughout (where did you find that artist?!?) and breathtaking ocean views. We woke up every morning to the sound of the waves and had coffee on the terrace while watching the sunrise. Absolutely magic. We saw so many whales we stopped counting. The kids loved the turtle hatchlings being released every afternoon, on the beach right in front of the property! One night we even saw a turtle come on shore to lay eggs! We’re definitely coming back, for sure.

A slice of heaven on the Mexican coast
We’ve stayed at luxury hotels and resorts before, but nothing compares to the privacy and beauty of Villas Tortugas and of Villa Linda specifically. Yes, it’s a bumpy ride in, but that road through the jungle coconut plantation (we felt like Indiana Jones a bit!) is probably why this place is the way it is. You arrive on property, and it feels like an old Fantasy Island episode. How did THIS place get here?!? The setting is beyond spectacular. The house itself is spacious, stylish, and fully equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Miriam was a great cook and stocked our fridge before we arrived with everything we asked for in advance (that was super helpful, thank you!). We spent our days lounging in the sun and enjoying incredible meals on the upstairs terrace.

Like stepping back in time
This is hands down one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Villa Linda is pure luxury, with high-end finishes, stunning decor, and the most comfortable beds. The beach is right outside your door, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature. The birds! So many of them! The way the place is decorated , it feels like a Cuban villa out of the 1940s, as if Earnest Hemmingway might be on the porch having a drink with you. The murals and artwork are amazing! If you’re looking for a private escape in paradise, this is the place!”
